Things getting worse for ITV's Daybreak

I expect Christine to be quietly dropped from Daybroke and most likely ITV, thus leaving her with nowhere but Sky to go. BBC wrongly assumed she was the golden child of presenting, sadly for ITV she appears to be fools gold. ITV will have a get out clause in her contract so they can sack her with maybe a month or two salary as compo.

Still it could be worse for her she could end up on QVC.:D

Don't believe Chiles has a future at ITV either but as he cost more they will hang on to him till the end of his contract then its P45 and don't let the door hit your ass as you leave. :D

Looks like karma may have bitten ITV on the arse.

They sacked the entire team to bring in what they thought were the golden couple and the viewers have voted with their remotes and switched off.

Wonder if Andrew, Ben et al are smirking smugly?

I could see her doing quite well on something like QVC.
Some of their presenters have been there for years ... fairly stable mortgage-paying work or stuck with nowhere to go? Either way, any fall is less than from the supposed pinnacle of your profession.

Analysis from Media Guardian

What makes things worse for Daybreak is that since that analysis has been done, its ratings have actually got worse!
Last Wednesday they had just 720k v 1.6m for BBC Breakfast.

I really wouldn't believe anything ATv have printed as the guardian article proves Daybreak is losing significant audience share in the key demos. Atv are only printing the statements/denials ITV's spin doctors are giving them.
A few weeks ago thet were spinning that everything was rosy, at least now their admitting to the decline on Gmtv figures.

a) format was horrendous,bland
b) adrian chiles - who wants to listen to him or look at him in themorning, in fact ever = one show was bad enough
c) kate garraway's bitchiness was a right turn off - can you not do tv without this? had years of it with fiona philips
YUK
lorraine - bless her little cotton socks i suppose
harmless drivel
doomed to fail as soon as it started

I think the show has alot of good bits over GMTV, I love the interaction between the hosts, sport host and weather girl. I also really like the live view over London rather than the paper poster GMTV had in the background.

Just a shame the hosts are terrible.

I personally dont know what all the fuss is about. GMTV wasnt all that, and I am actually enjoying Daybreak now there are some serious bits and fun bits, and the one morning when Adrian nearly broke his elbow falling back on a mattress was just the best TV ever lol.

I think you have to watch it regular to see it has improved.

I have never watched Adrian or Christine before so had no preconceptions about them.

They are ok for me.

The only thing i dont think works is the settee it must be the most uncomfortable thing to sit on, and the presenters just look uncomfortable sitting on it..........

Give it a chance for me after watching GMTV since it started have started to settle in watching Daybreak.

Nothing fake about the ratings. There are shit.

I bet Christine is kicking herself because the OP is right. Once she finishes with Daybreak she won't have any sort of stable career. She is about to head down the same door as Anthea Turner. But that is where greed gets you. Christine sacked her agent for warning her this would happen. Looks like karma has bitten her on the arse too.

I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I miss GMTV. I miss Richard Arnold - he was good for a laugh, I miss Penny Smith and most of all I miss Cuprinol Carlos in the cleaner's cupboard that doubled for downtown LA. :(

They're still in the phase of promotion with the show, you'll know they've lost faith in it when all the trailers for the show disapear. Then changes will be made.

It is the presenting team. That Dan who does the sport is the worst in my opinion. I think he is pervy. I felt sick watching him trying to flirt with Nigella Lawson and when he said he wanted to wake up to a topless picture of Christine it was

Really not cool and very dodgy for first thing on a morning. He thinks he is a turn on but he is a turn off.

I think his surname is the giveaway. For those not familiar with Lob on TV, Urban Dictionary will explain all.:D (not for the sensitive)
