Kezzo, that's funny! I was scared to lie on my side because I thought I would do damage! I thought being on my back was the best for not disturbing the fusion.
But really, you do need to change positions and you're not going to hurt your fusion by turning over as long as you're careful to turn without twisting or bending. I was showing bone growth at only 6 weeks and was solidly fused at 6 months, and I regularly turned to each side and my back every night. I worried about it at the time, but I got so sore if I didn't turn regularly, and it all turned out well. You won't harm your fusion by lying on your back. Just be careful when you turn and don't prop yourself up too far so you don't bend the area of your fusion. You'll be fine!
