These computer viruses and spyware: Are people doing these? Why? No way to stop...

...all this? PC viruses and spyware: are these done by people? Who and why? Are they ever caught and punished?
It would be a lot easier if people would agree not to do these things. Then all of this money for antivirus and spyware protection would not have to be sent.
 
yes, they just dont come from nowhere...some people are idiotic...or just have too much time on their hands...some are caught, some arent.
