There's Something About Marrying- Episode Discussion (Repeat Ep 6/26)

I'm not sure what the old Sea Captain was going to suggest (he got cut off by Lisa with her gay marriage suggestion), but he was carrying a swordfish.

I just got the chance to watch this episode. My favorite part was the very end where Homer was getting ready to marry the old sea captian and the statue from his boat or whatever those things where called. And right behind was the Comic Book Guy marrying the card board cut out.

I'll have to keep on a lookout with the repeats also, because when Selma mentioned that she was married 3 times I was like who else did she marry. So I guess she got married to Lionel Hutz

Ok, so I'm on The Simpsons Archive, looking for this weekend's ep. And they say that it's a double feature - Home Away from Homer for the first half, and this episode for the second half. Apparently The Princes of Malibu ep for Sunday has been cancelled. Don't know if that's permanent or just a one time thing.

I was cracking up when the only celebrity was Isabella Rosselini

Also loved from Homer's map that in the middle he had listed the "Hunny tree"

"Dude likes a lady" :lmao:

When he tried taking the cigarette off with the knife, I was like, "No Homer" but we know that he would try crazy stuff like that!

Cyn- mostly like that's what they did, they want us to keep guessing if we caught that and then discuss it.

My theory is that the writers did it on purpose, to see if we would catch it. Once we notice, then we'll search high and low trying to figure out the mystery of the lost marriage. It's similar to the "Where is Springfield?" debate.

I did some further research. In "Much Apu About Nothing", Selma mentions that her name is Selma Bouvier Terwilliger Hutz McClure. I know we saw her marry Sideshow Bob and Troy McClure - the one I can't verify with an episode is Lionel Hutz.

butterbear- thanks for the link to the FAQ :)

They have made goofs sometimes on the show, one good example is the Nuclear Power Plant and when it was opened.

My brother was cracking up when he saw that Homer gave Patty the paper bag with the veil  Also liked when Patty kept throwing Homer her cigarette and it landed on his eye.

The only real celebrity on that map was Isabella Rosselini

I don't know if the third marriage was shown in an episode. Disco Stu was dancing around with annulment papers.

sicne hwen has Selma been married 3 times, all I know of is SideShow Bob & Troy McClure whos the 3rd?

and Pattys gf turns out to be a man?

The episode was HILARIOUS! :lmao: Every single thing that Homer said was priceless, LOL! I liked the part when Homer showed the map, and then he was like, "Did you read it all yet?" or something like that, haha. And when Homer gave Patty the paper bag veil, "Do Not Feed" and he wanted to sand the ugly off of her face with the belt sander, LMAO!

That's wicked that the website really exist, :rotfl:
