if there are wires running from it then it is a sensor of some type although I have never seen one there before.If it leaks and has wires try just a little tightening and if that does not work use a little red auto engine sealent.Use that but do not tighten it all the way.after a day give it just a little snug.If the item itself is leaking you need to replace it.
