theres a box that has IPT on it then says AUI what is this for in a 95 honda civic?

theres this box in the passenger foot area in my 95 civic theres a bunch of wires around it and theres this black box on in that has wires coming from it. it says IPT then some numbers then says AUI. there is a green cord that comes from it that looks like a cat 5 cord?? please help
