There was a guy in my building carrying a gun!!!!!?

there was this like 40 year old man carrying a gun out in the open with his hand on the trigger and he was waiting for the elevator and when i walked into the loby i was just standing there and he looked at me and looked away. i was so fricken scared! then i slowly walked towards the stairs and took the stairs. i am NOT joking i SWEAR ON MY LIFE THIS HAPPENED! do you think he was going to shoot someone? why didnt he shoot me? why do you think he was CASUALLY holding a gun in the lobby?
 
Could he be a cop? security guard? secret service agent? cia agent? nsa agent? dea agent?
 
holy cow.... you should tell the police the name of the hotel and the discription of the guy... are you sure it was a real gun? it could have been a toy or something for his kids. but if youre absolutely sure it was a gun, take to the fuzz. the police.
