the church.? Matt. 16:16-18: "And Simon Peter answered and said, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' Jesus answered and said to him, 'Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it." - .
Matthew 7:21-28), "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man" (verse 24). He then describes this wise man as building his house, that is, his whole life, on the rock of genuine subjection to God. Conversely, the disobedient use unfit material as the foundation of their lives. (who's obedient to him? who's the rock?)
Luke 6:48: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
O.k lets first talk about Petras and Petros. Yes in current greek it means little or big....however in Biblical greek it simply reference masculine or femanine. Look at the verses and look up Biblical greek. I admit I cannot translate...however I have researched the basic differences. And O.h jesus is the rock the church will be built on...How do you negate the passages above???? you can't just dissmiss them. Its a clear endowment of title, the reason people fight against it is because that would lead right to the Catholic Church. I know it sounds harsh, but its true!
