There are no all-animation channels

I mean if they show goofy stuff like Pee-Wee's Playhouse where cartoons were part of the segments, I let that slide. Jimmy's Head is basically Nickelodeon/Canadian sitcoms purchased by Disney Channel type stuff that has animated characters superimposed on top of the camera.

In college, I've done stage work and worked with puppets. I also worked on animation projects working in 2D and 3D animation.

To compare puppetry with animation is a little odd. I mean, yeah, they're bringing inanimate objects to life, but there is a flesh-and-blood person actually acting it out rather than drawing, modeling, or rendering it out. Puppetry is acting. It's performance art.

Puppetry is not cartoons nor animation. Otherwise, we'd be seeing puppet discussions here in the general animation board. And puppet productions would be nominated for Annies or Best Animated Series and Picture awards. But they're not, and the animation industry would be even more pissed if they did.

You know, mimes use the art of illusion to make things that aren't there animated. Is mimery animation too?

It's live-action animation.

Period.

To say it's not legit animation is like saying stop-motion isn't animation. It's the exact same thing, except with clay figures.
