Have you heard of this? Pretty interesting.

It says..."T-Mobile Hotspot @ Home combines the benefits of a mobile phone and a home phone. Whenever your T-Mobile HotSpot Phone is within range of a Wi-Fi signal (either at your house or a T-Mobile HotSpot location), you can make unlimited nationwide calls without using your plan minutes. It gives you great coverage at home, and when you're on the go, it works just like a regular mobile phone."

So I'm guessing any Wi-Fi phone T-Mobile has would be a "HotSpot" phone...? If this is true, there is even more the reason to wait for the T-Mobile Curve with WiFi!

Sounds pretty nice.

Got an unofficial word that UMA will be launching Nationally sometime in July with 4 handsets. T-Mobile is still keeping hush hush about what 4 units it will be but we are looking forward to it. The understanding we have is that you will be able to make Unlimited VOIP calls using a UMA enabled handset on any public wi-fi network or T-Mobile hotspot. The phone is supposed to seamlessly transfer the call from the Wireless network to the Wi-Fi and back depening on which signal is the strongest and fastest.

only works for unlim wifi calling on your home wifi if you have a tmo router and correct plan and at tmo hotyspot locations.

I hope you are incorrect in that because I like my current wi-fi router and don't want to change it. We haven't had our sales training to provide all the details yet but hopefully it will happen by the end of the month.

Edit: Just took a closer look at the site and paid more attention to the actual setup that they are talking about. It does look like it will work from home or a T-Mobile hotspot for wi-fi connections. What it also looks like is that you aren't required to use their router but it is available (as I understood the wording on how it works). I will definitely post more when I get through with the training session.

My friend at T-Mo Corp says that you can use your current modem and router, no problem. He just came back from trianing on this. Just need to sign up for the service...
