themusicplay.net

I know I shouldn't be judging before I try it out, but is there a reason that the creator only dedicated the site to Hip hop/rap?

And if he/she did, is there an almost equal amount of variety among the types of hip hop? For example, if I choose Asian hip hop, will I find a lot of hits for korean hip hop artists or even Indian ones?

In addition, are the users all located in one particular continent? Otherwise, i can't imagine how you guys get the other content for the Asian or kids category or something like that.

I love the design. One of the most unique websites in that aspect.

I eventually joined, it's just general music.

Eh. I'm hesitant in downloading unknown artists unless I've heard a couple of their songs. But even then, finding their songs online is doubtful because of band's relatively new beginning.

Thus, I tend to avoid downloading excess files, unless my seed ratio on private trackers really need a boost.

Off-topic: Why do you continuously post updates about the tracker if you're just a "friend" of the owner and not in the staff? Why can't they register here and post stuff themselves? :dabs:

i'm a staff member now on TMP :P

You'll never discover new music like that... I download stuff I've never heard of all the time, usually based on friend recommendations.

There are also sites like last.fm that are great for both similar artist recommendations and for track previews. Those using the large music trackers (I think it works on at least What/Waffles/STMusic/Libble, I forget) can look for the "OiNKPlus" greasemonkey script that'll stick lots of neat stuff into the torrent description pages, including a last.fm and myspace preview player so you can listen to whole or partial tracks before grabbing an album.

It can be found here:

I joined the tracker because the design looked pretty good and it is. But honestly, I don't need another tracker... It barely has anything for my tastes, so yeah. Why bother have it?

My friend and I own almost every CD from the Anticon label. We love Anticon.

OK so I went looking for a pack like I mentioned before and found purportedly comprehensive anticon pack (almost 5GB) on demonoid of all places. Downloading it now, and the speeds aren't bad either (~300kbps).

Slightly off topic, but wheeeey.

That's pretty legit.

Usually, I'm interested in Indie music, since they have the potential of creating some great music, contrary to those lame rap songs like "Crank 'dat Soulja Boy" or "Lollipop" by wayne. I can't believe that those two songs were actually hit singles...

Regardless... Indie artists seem to have really good music, but I can't seem to find them anywhere, especially on torrent sites (At least on Demonoid).

Are there any trackers that have a huge torrent library of music? themusicplay.net is great for hip hop, but it'd be nice to have some site for Indie music or better yet a "mega" tracker with >9000 GB of music torrents. XD
