Just seen that this is on tv over the weekend. and was wondering if anyone else likes this film.
It's not a very well know movie considering it was directed by Sydney Pollack and stared Robert Mitchum which is a real shame as I think it's up there with both of their best works.

Thanks Nick- look foreward to watching it as I ve not seen it for years. Used to be on TV quite a lot in the 80's and I dont think its available on DVD.

And you can get it on DVD, HMV UK website have exclusive rights to R2 version of it. It's a good print and some nice extras on the disk too

I've waxed and wained over the years on this one. When I first saw I thought it was fantastic. Years later I saw it again and thought it moved too slowly. I expect if I saw it now I'd still like it a lot.

I think you do have to be in the right mood to enjoy this film. And as you say not action packed, but well done when it happens.
