the world cup?

when is the world cup? im really confused on when it is and how you qualify and what channels they are showing it on, etc.

please let me know! im just starting to get into soccer and trying to learn as much as i can.

also, if you know, how is liverpool as a team?
 
The next world cup is 2010 in South Africa. As you are learning about the game i will not give you sh!t for calling it soccer. BUT IT'S CALLED FOOTBALL IN THE REAL WORLD.
 
The World Cup will be in South Africa in the summer of 2010. Each part of the world, roughly sperated as continents, has its own qualification process. Some have already started, such as South America. In Notrth America, where I live, the USA will play its first qualifier in June, against Barbados. This link explains it in detail:

As for Liverpool, they are considered as one of the "big four" in England, one of the 4 best teams, along with Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal. They're a good team, but right now they're going through a lot of internal, political infighting.
