Because it affects the nation as it does, it's an issue that is going to be politicized out the wazoo. Think about what you're saying for a second. Someone dies on such a natioanlly recognized scale, then yes, you want to know that your family member's death isn't going to be pushed aside and belittled because everything else takes precedence.
