The Witches remake

This is the most POINTLESS thing ever as the original movie is excellent. Fair enough if it was crap but it isn't. Granted, the ending where he's turned back into a boy is perhaps too sugary sweet but so what? They'll have to change a LOT to make the remake worthwhile.

What they SHOULD be doing is a live-action BFG!

My daughter saw it at a friend's house & thought it was great. Later we bought the film & I was quite shocked, especially the bit where Angelica Huston peeled back her mask to reveal her real face.

Good Gravy! It'll either be grey and monotone with annoying kiddies and balding women with purple eyes or it could take on a nightmare-fantasy Tim Burton feel and be articulate.

I had a nightmare about that scene, when i was little i watched The Witches on television, and it scared the hell out of me, plus i was sad for the little boy who got turned into a mouse.

Oh, what great news!

The movie was one of my favourites when I was a bit younger, but looking back I can see how it could have been done SO much better! Doesn't really do justice to the book, but in the right hanRAB it could be awesome.

I'm getting really tired of endless remakes because nobody has anything new. I love this film, and I liked the ending! Roald Dahl was a brilliant if twisted author, but I think the little boy deserved to be human again, and I would have hated it if he had to stay as a mouse and died in 3 years!

I seriously doubt a remake will improve on the original, and if they are going to stick with the bleak ending I won't bother with it.

I say that they do another of Dahl's books. I think they should make a film of boy. That's my favourite. I don't really like the witches film, I find it quite boring, predictable and poorly made. I think Matilda was brilliant though I watched it about 50 times when I was a kid. But they let her keep her powers in the film. She should have lost them like in the book becuase it's part of the story. Just like in the witches Luke should have stayed a mouse. There are no good witches for one thing.
