The Witches remake

I hope the remake has the proper ending where he stays a mouse, seemingly Roald Dahl despised the films ending where a good witch changed him back so much that he went outside cinemas with a louRABpeaker urging people not to go watch it.

Is that true about Roald Dahl outside the cinema?! Lol thats funny. I thought that director did a good job with HP3 and it was quite a dark film as well, so hopefully it will reflect the book better than the first film did although I agree with the other poster who said Anjelica will be hard to top as the grand high witch!

Not suprised, he was very protective of his work, rumour is that he hated the Gene Wilder version of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, and his wife said he would have prefered last years version

Didn't like the original Charlie, liked last years, while I didn't hate The Witches, I was dissapointed with the ending, agree Anjelica will be hard to beat

It will be interesting to see what they do with this though

I enjoyed the remake of Chocolate a lot more, superior imo.

As for the remake of The Witches, got a good director so will look forwarRAB to what he can do.

I love The Witches but the ending is such a cop out for me. Not surprised Roald Dahl didn't like it. I wish film adaptations would stick to the actual source material...it really bugs me :)

Angelica will definitely be hard to beat!

xx

i remember watchin the film when it was little sscared the crap out of me but i thought it was brilliant althou i think it made me weirder i know have great likin for evil characters

i loved the witches, yeah it's a shame about the ending. I guess it's the only downside to the movie. and yes Anjelica Huston will be hard to follow.

Oh man what the hell was with that ending. The whole idea of a good witch and the kid becoming a boy again was so horrible. All the witches should have died in the hotel with the kid as a mouse and his grandma going off after more witches in other countries. The film seemed to ignore that.

Oh and what happened with the grandma's thumb? I know a witch clearly did that but was it the Grand Witch or some random one like the one that comes after the boy?
I remember reading that bit and dreading the film cos it could have been made to look so scary.

The Witches is a very good film but there are several weak areas that could be improved upon in a remake, mainly the ending.
