is being re made ,set on an island off the coast of california and run by women
due out next year i think doesnt sound as good as the original but edward woodward gave it the thumbs up
best left alone imho
 
I hope they don't murder that film, I loved the original, Christopher Lee was excellent.

Although the problem with doing a remake of such a well known film is that 90% of us already know that

they stick him in the statue and burn him at the end because they're all nutters.
 
I think The Wicker Man is the only horror film to have actually permanently scarred me. "And on that tree there is a man and on that man there is a boy and on that boy..." ARGH!
 
The first movie is a little masterpiece, but at least with the re-make, they're taking it in a slightly new direction with the matriarchal element to the community.
It's also got some promising members to the cast (Frances Conroy), but ultimately, I think it'll be a lacklustre viewing experience. Either they'll just go by the book and repeat the ending of the original, or completely slaughter it with a ridiculous throw off.
