The Wicker Man (Original)

That's good enough for me..........:)

Wasn't the girl who played Rowan Morrison the same actress who went on to play Keef's wife in Eastenders?!

I also read that the producer, Peter Snell, had an affair with Britt Ekland or Ingrid Pitt during filming..........

Ingrid Pitt covered in bubbles in a tin bath........ooh err!!......:p

Yes - Gerry Cowper. She went from being a child actor in one of the best films ever to being an adult in one of the worst TV programmes ever (IMO)!

I consider this film (the original version that is) to be one of those where you KNEW what the ending is going to be, but more than makes up for that with a superb script

The look on Howie's face when he sees what his fate is going to be is very believable and top marks to Edward Woodward for a brilliant performance as the doomed Howie

It is very sexy, without being too explicit.

The fact that Edward Woodward's character is a virgin is just so erotic. It's his finest performance ever.

The first time I saw that scene (many years ago now), with Willow trying to entice the virgin policeman into her room, I almost died - it was so amazingly sexy! And that haunting music is so apt.

I don't often get this with many films - but I really wish I was about to watch it for the very first time. I envy anyone who hasn't yet seen it.

So both played Rowan? I didn't know that, you learn something new every day.......I thought I knew just about everything there was to know about The Wicker Man as well........nice one Fizzbin............:)

Gerry Cowper's twin must have died young then obviously......how tragic..........

Both were on set, (they often used twins in films in those days) I think Gerry was mainly used - certainly the pic of Rowan was her. Her sister Jackie only died about 10 years or so back - her last IMDB listing is for The Bill in 1994.

On the other hand it was to be a supporting feature so perhaps it wasn't much money. I wonder if he kept his rights to a percentage of future takings though.

Perhaps that was the slightly risky Plan A involving making a good movie scene and so we never got to see Plan B, which was bash Howie over the head and kidnap him.

Actually, the picture of Rowan Morrison was Jackie, whereas Gerry played her in all of the live scenes except one or two shots in the cave as she runs away from Howie, which was also Jackie.
