The White Stripes

I actually think what I love most about them that it's just the two of them and yet they seem to be able to make some pretty extraordinary music. I don't find them boring at all actually quite the opposite. For me they're a breath of fresh air.
 
im moderately diggin it. icky thump really is the best track on the album hanRAB down... and its got a real nice sound to it. i just dont feel i can listen to this album all the way through in one sitting like i could with say elephant or self titled. maybe ill give it a 3rd shot.

Anyhoo, I disagree, music is nothing like literature or painting, it's much more interactive than that. Why do gigs if not to please the crowd and connect with the fans? If they were just satisfied with making music and letting people enjoy it, why not just put out cd's and music videos and leave it at that?

As far as stage presence goes, he has plenty of it, he's a rock God and acts it (these aren't exactly geriatric shows), but it seemed to me like he was trying to faze out the crowd, like he was avoiding looking at us or acknowledging our existence...maybe he's just too into his music...:confused:
 
Well I got pretty wicked tickets this time, so y'know.

Also, I got the tickets this time about three days after they'd been released. They didn't sell out so quick as before. I would've been so hyped if Cold War KiRAB had come along too though.
 
So many great songs on this, I can see most of them as singles. Conquest is a little odd though...I'm still trying to decide if he managed to pull of the Spanish Gypsy thing...

So far my favorites are: 300 mph torrential outpour blues, Rag and bone, Martyr for my love for you (*hugs David*;)), You don't know what love is (which is made for jumping about and shouting during a live gig)...:love:
 
Based on Blue Orchid I was gonna give it a listen... Ive never been a huge fan, but if the new albums gonna be similar to this kind of thing then it should be good... Whether Ill have the money to pay for it with all these albums coming out at the mo is a different story.
 
OK - ive had the new album 4 a bit now an ive listend 2 it quite a lot ova the past week. :hphones:

Wen i first heard it, i thought there was lyk 2 gud songs on it an the othrs wer sh*te. Buuuuut now im startin 2 grow to the catchy tunes even if i stil don't get wat the hel they wer takin 2 come up with "The Nurse" - which i stil think is a poo track. :soapbox:

The catchiness of My doorbell and othr such songs has made it bcum one of my fave albums at the mo. Stil Blue Orchid, instinct blues, take,take,take, as ugly as i seem and red rain are TUUUNNNNNEEEEES that return to the musical bliss that was thr last album.

its not weird. White has made a concientious effort to get away from the simplistic stripes sound to make more pop orientated, mainstream music.

and who else is going to be the rock icon for this generation? every generation neeRAB its figure that it can latch onto. it provides a sense of distinction and identity. if White died now he would be seen as one of the all time legenRAB.
 
You're joking right? You can easily install it...or download the torrent I've linked in the post to Big3. You can't send multiple files without rar-ing them, or at least, I don't know how to.
