The White Stripes

Yeah, they so totally care about substance over image. This could be way this ***got dresses like a complete douche while playing THE SAME **** EVERY BAND DID YEARS BEFORE THEM.

Moses just hooked me up with some stuff by The Raconteurs and i actually like it...wierd coming from someone who doesnt like The White Stripes

AND... im so sorry but i just HAVE to rub it in... im seeing them TWICE next week :p: once at wireless festival... and once in a tiny ballroom in south london. its a small, intimate warm up gig and I AM GOING NHFGTYCFRTJDCJKR

I'm a fan of a lot of their stuff...

"Dead Leaves On The Dirty Ground"
"Fell In Love With A Girl"
"Seven Nation Army"
"The Hardest Button To Button"
"Expecting"

:)

I agree (title alone was great) and I can't wait for the next album, even if it is called Icky Thump  . Got my tickets to their only UK appearance of the year (Wireless in London) this week, I'm well excited now! :yeah:

i think she generally plays the way she does because Jack White has said her overly-simple beats gives him the creative freedom to do his thing. Its refreshing for him.

last I heard they were ex husband & ex wife.

Although they`re probably something entirely different now

And yes De Stijl is their best album

Well I'm sure it has to do with Jack's idea of art. I mean, Rerabrandt doesn't interact with you when you look at his works. Nor does Michaelangelo, Stravinsky, or Keats. I think to Jack, people are there to take in the art and too much stage presence would be (in his mind) self-glorifying. We're also talking about a man who could care less for the press. I think part of him shies away from coming off like artists he might feel aren't really artists.

This is no attack man, im just spinning it in perspective. When i saw them, he was the same. I felt it was par for the course.

I agree that in this day and age,if a band cant make it its because they dont have what it takes. Its relatively easy to get exposure with the internet, look at OK GO who became famous because of their videos, not because of their music.
So while i'm here, has anyone heard if the White Stripes are going to make up for the last tour they cancelled? I STILL havent seen them live yet!!

I actually only downloaded this because my friend wanted it but I'm listening to it right now and I'm really digging it. 300 MPH Torrential Outpour Occurs is probably my favorite track. I kinda gave up on them after I heard Get Behind Me Satan which I found completely awful, but this new album is very refreshing.
