Well, if no one attempts to answer the questions, then how are we supposed to generate discussion? Rainbow Sharpie did say:



No one's singling you out, it's just that you tossed out a bunch of them, and I had answers/opinions for some of them. However, I will say that I think the OP's suggestion to try to limit our questions to just one query at a time is a good one, so folks will have time to read them, catch up, and provide their opinions.
 
Okay, I realize this is an old thread, but some weird questions popped in my head and I was wondering what you guys would think.

What if Christopher Nolan made his next movie at Pixar?
What if Chris Sanders never left Disney?
 
interesting, this is pretty odd thread but I had to admit it that when we have TELETOON Retro about 4 years now, so I was thinking:


What if TELETOON Retro picked up other Kids' WB shows to the channel like Batman: TAS?
 
What if Donald had appeared full-time on Ducktales and they didn't create Launchpad. What would the show have been like? What would have happened to Darkwing Duck? Would that show have existed at all without Launchpad?
 
I think he and Lasseter would've made a compromise on American Dog/Bolt...but he got credit in Bolt, anyway :sweat:

(I am actually surprised Lassterer thought the movie was too "quirky" for its own good - Pixar is all about creativity and it seems a bit hypocritical :sad:)
 
If you mean the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo, you're not the only one who has been wanting that; actually i've had a few good what if's as far as Scooby Doo is concerned, some of which may have been discussed her before but here goes:

What if Fred and Velma were in the cast of the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo and there was no Scrappy in that series as well?(I actually did a fan fiction series with that concept)

What if the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo series had gotten a longer run and the gang actually caught every ghost from the Demon Chest?

What if in 1979 instead of Scrappy, a character like Madelyn Dinkley(From Scooby Doo Abracadabra Doo) was introduced to the Scooby series, and that character would travel with the gang(basically I think this would have worked because you would have had a female in the 1980-1982 seasons and you would have had someone who was attracted to Shaggy, which means maybe there wouldn't have been a character like Googie introduced later)

What if when Fred Silverman left ABC to take the job as the head of NBC programming, he did the same thing he did when he left CBS to go to ABC, mainly to bring Scooby Doo along with him, in other words what if Scooby Doo aired on NBC's saturday morning schedule?

What if Scooby Doo had aired in the 1986-87 and 1987-88 seasons on ABC and if so what would the show have been like?

What if Scooby Doo Mystery Inc was made a few years ago and aired instead of Shaggy and Scooby Doo Get A Clue?

What if Fred, Daphne and Velma were around for the three syndicated movies in 1987-1988(recluctant werewolf, Ghoul School and Boo Brothers)?

What if the original idea for Scooby Doo(Mysteries Five) after a decade or so was dusted off and started airing on CBS, ABC, or NBC saturday morning schedules?

Finally(at least for now) one that would have been very interesting: What if instead of Scooby Doo on Zombie Island being a movie, it would have been like a mini-series or the springboard for a new Saturday Morning or Cartoon Network series and in the final episode of the series, Fred and Daphne would have a wedding, and maybe Shaggy and Velma would have a wedding as well?

Those are the only ones I have for now, but I have plenty more interesting ones that I might post later
 
What if Pryde of the X-Men had been picked up as a series?

What if Jamie Kellner hadnt been put in charge of the WB? Would shows like Animaniacs, Freakazoid, etc last longer?

What if the Beavis and Butthead "fire" incident (which had nothing to do with the show actually) hadnt happened?

What if The New Beany and Cecil show had been a hit? Would we have seen the new adventures of mighty mouse or ren and stimpy (since all 3 shows i mentioned involved john k heavily)?
 
It is an intresting question for a few reasons:
One, with Scooby and the Smurfs both on NBC, would the network still have been the number one network on Saturday Morning TV?

Two, with Scooby's track record to that point(according to Wikipedia, Fred Silverman started at NBC in 1978, however he only stayed until 1981), would the show still have been a hit on NBC as it was on CBS and ABC?; plus as has been mentioned on several places online, Scooby's ratings were declining by that point, so it could have been possible that maybe ABC after the 1978 season could have canceled Scooby Doo because of bad ratings, and then because Fred Silverman had a major part in bringing Scooby to the air(and he had already brought the show with him to ABC when he left CBS), he could have talked NBC into bringing Scooby to the network's Saturday schedule.

Which brings to mind another question: What would NBC have done with Scooby Doo at that point if it had aired on their network? Would NBC have still added Scrappy as a main character, and what kind of format would the show have been? Also with Scooby switching networks, would the show have still entered in syndication in 1980?

Also if Scooby had stayed on NBC(considering their ratings then it's certainly possible Scooby might have stuck around a few extra years); would we have still gotten 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo? I think we still would have gotten a Pup Named Scooby Doo because I think at that time NBC had the New Archies(with younger versions of those characters) so it was probably inevitable.

Stephanie's question was good too, according to what i've read the Smurfs started on NBC in 1981(oddly enough the same year Fred Silverman left NBC to start his own production company), so it's most likely that the Smurfs was already in the works to be aired on NBC even after Silverman left the network; also if Silverman brought Scooby Doo to NBC there's a good chance it still would have been airing on NBC still when the Smurfs debuted; most likely what would have happened in my opinion is the Smurfs and Scooby could have been the two top shows and anchors of NBC's Saturday lineup.

Another interesting question is since the Smurfs aired several prime time specials on NBC, would Hanna Barbera have been willing to do Prime Time specials with Scooby? Maybe the Halloween and Christmas episodes from the New Scooby Doo Mysteries might have been in Prime Time on NBC, or maybe the Kids WB WNSD Valentine's Special might have aired on NBC in prime time(albeit most likely with a different story); I think a lot of the things I mentioned might have happened and who knows they could have happened if Fred Silverman had decided to do what he did when he left CBS and that was to take Scooby with him(although Scooby might have been under contract to ABC at the time so maybe the show might not have moved to NBC right away).

Back to the main topic, if NBC had both Skooby and the Smurfs, we could even wonder if NBC would had given the green light to broadcast the 1982 Marvel animated series: The Incredible Hulk and Spider-man & his Amazing Friends? Could had been possible then Skooby-Doo and the Smurfs might have a special crossover episode a bit similar in concept like the Skooby-Doo crossover with Josie & the Pussycats?

If Skooby was on NBC, maybe the Smurfs wouldn't get the plug pulled in 1990 maybe it might stay a bit longer for 1 or 2 additionnal seasons. But what could had been the fate of the live-action series like Saved by the Bell and the "clones" series like Hangin tough, California Dreamin? We could even wonder if the Real Ghostbusters and Garfield & Friends would had been successeful as we knew if Skooby was on NBC?

Back to Scooby and NBC though: Maybe ABC or CBS would have aired Spider Man and his Amazing Friends and the Incredible Hulk; maybe NBC could have had a crossover with the Smurfs and Scooby(that's something I would have liked seeing, or maybe Scooby could have had various crossover with other NBC shows(Mr. T had a cartoon so maybe he would have shown up on Scooby; actually there was a New Scooby Doo Mysteries episode in 1984 that featured an A Team knock off, how great would it have been if that episode actually had the A Team?)

Who knows, maybe Scooby would have lasted a few more seasons on NBC, then on ABC; as a result maybe the Smurfs would have lasted a few more years on NBC, and maybe the live action shows would have aired on ABC or CBS, or even in syndication or cable; maybe the Real Ghostbusters and Garfield and Friends wouldn't have been succesful if Scooby was on NBC, who knows?

And the biggest question of all: if Scooby was still succesful on NBC, would NBC have dumped saturday morning cartoons? Or would ABC or CBS have farmed out their Saturday lineups to other providers and companies(of course Saturday Morning lineups since the dawn of television had tons of shows from other companies like Hanna Barbera so maybe it would have happened anyway); another interesting question would be if Scooby was on NBC, would there have been cartoons on The WB, CW, UPN, or FOX?, at least as Saturday mornings are concerned.
