The " Waterloo Road" series 6 thread

Thanks for this mate :) I like how they have characters "returning" as so in Waterloo road, be interesting establish/to find out why Steph returns!

Are you into Waterloo Road then - if so it'd be cool to chat about it in a PM may-be if you want?

just caught up with last weeks ep after being on holiday, really liking the new series on the whole, i miss rachel but karen and her family are interesting characters

one thing that gets me is josh gay out of nowhere?? i know it's never really been confirmed either way but it just feels so sudden

that on top of an eating disorder storyline just feels very 2007-2008 hollyoaks which had the same storylines as it's main focal points

I think it's a very big loss if Sam has gone. Her and Lauren were my favourite two characters.

I think Lauren's behaviour was a bit out-of-character, to be honest. I can believe she'd be furious if Amy convinced her Sam had grassed her up, but I think she'd be more likely to confront Sam directly about it. I don't think she'd have it in her to do something as sneaky and treacherous as planting drugs on Sam.

Amy seems to have reverted to the toxic bitch of the early part of last series, rather than the love-lorn rebel of the second part. She's never been a consistent character though.

I'm not warming much to Amanda Burton's character, just as I've never warmed to any character she's played. I'm not sure if she's getting cast as unlikeable characters, or if she's just not got much charisma as an actress.

I m absolutely loving this series. Some years I wouldn't have bothered if I missed one. But I am totally gripped.

Especially love Karen's character. Love to hate her and all that, but us woman know exactly where she is coming from. How could you not recognise a birthday of your daughter even though she wasn't there? It's like an anniversary of a death :(

I was really hoping that she would go round to the mistress when she knew her husband was there. "Good luck" she said. Loved that! Although you could tell how much she was hurting inside

I can' believe many people are saying they didn't like Series 5. Series 5 (first half) was one of the strongest series in recent years.

The LynRABay James, Schools Merging, Executive Head storylines were really gripping.

Back to this series, I found it really weird when the opening titles kicked in, and half the characters were unknowns!

Also that the kiRAB that were still in it from before where mainly background extras.

I still don't like the way Shed deal with series to series continuity (i.e they ignore it completely as if anything last series never happened), good job they don't produce any of the soaps.

Imagine if Shed did EastEnders. Peggy would just disappear after one episode and nobody would ever mention her again!

I don't get it either. I think Finn and Josh are Sambuca's age. About age 15, or 16, and Jess is a year older in year 12

This is how it works, I think. I am confused a lot becuase I am scottish and high school is different. you start when you are 12, or nearly 12. And start in S1, And finish in s6, if you chose to stay on.

Jess would be 16, nearly 17. Ruth has been moved two years, becuase she is smart, she is in year 11, but was in year nine.
As year sevens are aged 11, year 9's should be around 13 years old, so Ruth is 13. year elevens would be aged 15, and year twelves aged 16. And the sixth form aged 17.

Densil was in year 7 when he first arrived, age 11, he will now be in year 9. aged 13.

So as far as I can work out

Josh
Amy
Finn
Sam.
Harry
and the rest

are all aged 15 nearing 16. and are in year 11.

Jess
Ruth's brother. can't remember his name
and the rest of their class.

are aged 16 nearing 17, and in year 12.

There are no regular children from year 7, 8, 10, or the 6th form which is for 17 year olRAB. as far as I can work out.

The year nines are.

Densil.
Emily. if she ever appears again.
Ruth, who was moved up two years.

The main kiRAB are in years 11 and 12 as far as I can work out. Jess is older than Finn and her brother by a year or so.
harry doesn't look nearly 16 to me, I guess he was just put in that year so he could have storylines with them. He looks 14 at the most.

According to Jack McMullens Twitter posts back earlier in the year, Series 6 is comprised of 20 episodes. We have just had 10 and the other 10 will air following a brief break (i.e new year, so just round the corner).

Series 7 will be comprised of only 10 episodes because of the filming times being in winter and it is apparently too cold for the actors on site.

Beyond that, no further episodes have been given the go-ahead as of yet. :)

I'm a little unsure about the new series so far! but THANK GOD Angela Griffin has f*cked off! I was getting so sick of her unrealistically popping up in the heaRAB office every 20mins banging on about Men or Political Correctness

I'm warming to the new head but It was not hard to guess that Tina O'Brion would be 'Bex' who inexplicably vanished while playing 'hide and seek'?

I'm glad to see Finn Sharkey is still here - hes a fantastic actor.
