Four episodes in and this series just isn't clicking for me. There are so many faults, character personality transplants and the characters just aren't working together, like in previous series.
-The Amy/Finn romance which viewers invested in during series 5 seems to have been completely forgotten about, despite it being the main story for the 2nd half of series 5.
-Josh suddenly has feelings for Finn, despite showing no interest whatsoever in series 5.
-Tom refers to his son like he's known him since he was born when infact he's been living with him for about a year, if that.
-Ruby's sudden desire to have a child just doesn't fit with me. Ruby's character seems to have totally changed.
-The headteacher is too similar to Rachel Mason imo-strong, independant woman with personal problems of her own which is why I haven't taken to her, because I'm trying to compare her to Rachel. What they needed was someone completely different. Also the Fisher family seem to be in our faces all the time.
With Steph, Kim & Rachel gone there seems to be no proper character interaction, especially between teachers imo. Karen is too busy focusing on her family, Ruby on getting a family, Tom on his son, Grantly having a secret which isn't known to the audience yet and Cesca walking about like a spare part.
The incredibly fast pace of last nights episode and awful acting from Josh was cringeworthy. The gay plot should have been the long running storyline, not the teacher sleeping with student blackmail.
The only redeeming features so far are Janeece and looking forward to Steph's return and Grantly's secret revealed.
Very dissappointing so far-definitely the worst series yet by far. Hoping for things to improve...
