The " Waterloo Road" series 6 thread

The other thing that wasn't explained was Rose Kelly's apparent break up with Tom Clarkson. In the last series she introduced herself to Tom's son as his partner and then she hasn't been mentioned except for a brief appearance when she came to visit Sambucca.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great series and I try not to miss it, but there are quite often, continuity issues!

They seemed to be going out of their way not to mention past cast members names to avoid confusing newcomers to the series. Sambuca's boyfriend was just called 'Sambuca's boyfriend' rather than Bolton.

The youngest Fisher lad looks like a young version of Paul Langley (or "The lad who was best frienRAB with Sambuca's boyfriend" as he would now be known!)

Janeese was one of the best things about it, although you forget how few people actually remember her. Only Grantly and Clarkson know her.

Series one is my favourite for sure. I thought Jack was a brilliant character, and although I thought Rachel was good, I always wanted Jack back.

I do like WR - even though it is total hokum regarding what goes on in a school: too many glaring errors it is untrue (and in this episode: wrong texts being taught, for instance, is sadly not that rare and there are always procedures by exam boarRAB and unis to allow such students to show what they can do), but that said it is "fun". Trashy telly done well has a real place in my heart!

And the Grantley storyline was really beautifully played.Although he typifies a lot that is wrong in barely adequate teachers, he is a great character - and well played. It was also good to see Steph back - even though she was an appalling teacher, she was/is a great character.

I am still not keen on Amanda Burton in this though - while I dont think she is that great an actress anyhow, she lacks depth to bring anything to the role of the Head but this not helped by the tedious, drawn out Bex storyline that has hardly allowed her to take off.

I'd like to know who does their printing. To get so many copies printed in full colour and collated and stapled in a lunchtime is going some.

The woman Charlie is having an affair with is Maggie from Casualty played by Susan Cookson, who was also in Early Doors.

Another good episode tonight, when Karen and Montoya went to the house, I was waiting for Step to come out!!

What do we reckon on the Bex front guys? Alive or Dead?

Good start to the series the acting has vastly improved from the end of last series...

just have to say, i love the way you have such a simple name! lol

I agree, she is likeable, but she is sort of, put into situations that make it hard for others to like her, if you see what i mean?!

I thought it was a great episode tonight, loving the focus on the Fisher family. I like the fact they are all falling apart in completely different directions and talking together would resolve or at least bring to the surface all their issues.

I think the girl who plays Jess is brilliant, ordinarily I doubt i'd like the character but I really feel for her and can believe she's willing for Chris to look after her.

I'm so confused by the ages of certain characters. So Jess is 16 and seeing Finn, who is how old? I thought he was about 17, but that can't be right seeing as Jess' brother is in his class?

Someone help me out here :p

So pleased to see Rose back, but dissappointing to not mention why she left Waterloo Road in the first place, especially considering she was the biggest character of Series 4. Then again Steph didn't get a proper exit, so I'm not surprised. I'm sure Holly Kenny (Sam) has been filming Series 7 though and I think she'll return even though it did seem like that was her exit.

The Cesca storyline was awful and the ''messages'' that viewers are being given each week are getting boring and predictable. And don't even get me started on the bullying storyline-15/20 pupils laughing in a circle when one pushes a boy about in the middle of the hall-pathetic storyline.

But FINALLY some proper interaction with the school from Karen, not just managing her family. But she still doesn't seem like a headteacher for me and as much as Amanda Burton is a great actress, I think the casting is wrong.

Next weeks looks jam packed with the bulimia storyline coming to a head, Janeece giving birth and Charlie's girlfriend coming to school.

Though watching series two earlier made me realise how much this show has gone downhill:(
