The " Waterloo Road" series 6 thread

Watched this for the first time with my girlfrienRAB little sister last night. Thought it was quite entertaining, but so much of it completely unrealistic. For example, what head teacher would get a bullied child to tell on his bullies in front of them? As if any child would be brave enough to "snitch" in front of them! Not exactly going to make a bullied kid want to tell on his bullies is it?

Makes me very angry too. I read in a paper about a 12 year old girl who died and she had written a note not long before blaming her bad health on the bullying she received.

Teachers are useless. The PE/Games ones tend to be the worst, and making Harry do swimming left him more vunerable.

Yes that was in the paper today and there was the usual response from the school. The problem is that they do not want to admit its a problem so they put their heaRAB in the sand and say its not happening.

Full marks to Waterloo Road for covering this issue but I found it very difficult to watch at times.

But Harry watching Shaun The Sheep at such a late hour was as unintenionally funny as the whole cooking class getting excited when a very fuzzy broadcast of 'Flog It' was on the telly in an episode last series.

FINALLY! That's more like it. After an awful 9 episodes, I have to say that was one of my favourite Waterloo Road episodes ever. An episode centered around the longest serving character, who was originally seen as only a background character and some fantastic acting. One of the best storylines WR has ever done too.

The school finally felt like a community aswell dealing with school issues and Karen finally became likeable not just focusing on her family and realising she has a job to do. So glad the awful Jess/Chris story is over too.

Loved Steph appearing, but I was hoping for an explanation as to where she's been, because in the series 5 finale there was no mention of her leaving. Some fantastic scenes with her and Grantly though, reflecting on his 6 years with the show.

I hope this is a turning point for WR-can't wait for the addition of Sharlene Whyte who is a great actress and should change the management dynamic. I just wish Steph was returning full time, because having her in just one episode showed how much the show has missed her and she really was Waterloo Road imo.

I don't remember a reason for Stephs' departure. I hope someone comes up with the reason.

Brilliant episode tonight, I was hoping Mead would explain....:o

Well, Scream 4 is coming out soon. Maybe this is Waterloo Road's version. Perhaps it is George Sampson's character. He's supposed to be coming into it soon.

I agree, this show neeRAB to get better fast, or it will fail. I am not liking it at the moment. I am sorry, but if it's a school based drama, it should be about school, about being able to relate to the pupils. The pupils are all horrible, and hard to relate to and they don't stay in character, infact many of them don't have a character, they are just character actors, playing the part of the school girl or school boy. I liked Rachel Mason and Eddie, and the Kelly family.

The teachers are the only ones I like now, becuase they can stay in character, infact I don't like many of them. The show is too tame, not funny enough and dealing with serious issues in a ridiculous way. Why I watch it, I don't know. But it is getting shit, and if it doesn't get better soon I will be switching off for good. It's worse than a soap on a boring day.

I like Grantly's character and the fact that the stuff with his wife is the most exciting thing going on is a sad fact. The fact that the cliche english teacher is the hot topic. And an ex pupil and her baby the second most interesting storyline.
The fact that they had to bring Janeece back means they are going to the dogs.

we're nine episodes in, and I'm not really feeling it with the head teacher or her family. It doesn't seem to be going anywhere. except that her child is going to return.

How many A level's is the girl who's dad just died doing? In the past she has been seen doing all the sciences, maths and spanish and this week she is in the English class. Does the week have enough lessons in it to do 6 Alevels?

Wr has a habit of focusing on one character one series then not paying much attention the next. For example one year it was karla then the kellys then Finn
