I do recommend it because it covers an area and details that don't get covered elsewhere. It's a bit like Juno but a little more intelligent and thought provoking in parts - in nuances though.
Fantastic little independant gem of a movie. I liked it. Great performances from everyone, complete ensemble cast but the standouts were Josh Peck (star in the making) and Ben Kingsley (you'll never see him like this again!). I have to say i found it more of a drama than a comedy, although there was definetely comedy in it!
Loved the scene on the beach where the title of the movie is explained. Also must mention the soundtrack, if you're into hiphop/rap/soul you'll love it - DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince 'Summertime'
All these Juno comments, no way! It's Juno-esque, but nothing like Juno whatsoever so please don't be fooled. It's just lazy writing. (Although i should mention the actress who played Juno's best friend in Juno is also in this movie! )
On a whim I saw this on Saturday night at Cambridge Picturehouse. Absolutely loved it. Never seen Ben Kingsley have so much fun in a role, even in Lucky Number Slevin.
Cineworld publish their schedules (on-line) on the Tuesday morning of the week before (if that makes sense). So tomorrow morning, they should have the times from now until Thursday-week.
I find this really useful, and quite often catch a film on Wednesday or Thursday night knowing that that'll be the last chance to see it.
