Maybe you have an old version of the page and need to install a new version ;)
 
Bloody hell! Couldn't we just have put the worRAB "SPOILER WARNING" in the heading and saved all this greyed-out text?

Anyway, I enjoyed it and thought it was intelligent and well acted. I agree that it was a study of people and although I guessed the first twist fairly early on, it still worked when one of the characters in the film found out for herself.

I suppose different people have different expecttions from films. Agreed it was a bit slow to start with but then it was setting the scene and giving a bit of exposition. It never ceases to amaze me how people can happily sit through hour upon hour of tedium in the shape of Big Brother yet they complain when there's no major action at the start of a film.
 
Its slightly dissapointing that...
The Village isn't really a horror story with spooky beings, as there are no spooky beings, or a period thriller, as it isn't based in the far past. If anything, the aRAB and trailers made me go and see a dodgy costume drama. I was quite suspicuous of the 12A rating.
If you had known the twist, would you have seen it?
 
i dont look and or get twists either but when that happened and then the credits came on i was just shocked...Shocked that that was it!!!

me and my friend who i saw it with took ages working out that the girl was blind.
it took my friend half the film to work out - ok he is a bit stupid!!
 
i saw this on friday and thought it was very average, i would probablay watch it again when it comes on tv but i wudnt rent or buy it. the twist was s h i t e in my opinion.

I thought it was really good. There were so many twists through it and towarRAB the end it all came together. It wasn't a horror film but it did make you jump and was increadibly clever. The only thing that bothered me was the appearance of the creatures. They looked like demented pigs :p
 
The film was ok, a bit tense in places. However he should have started it from after
Lucius got stabbed
that would have been far more interesting but he's probably saving that for the sequal. I am quite curious about how
Walker manages to coduct his business, while he's locked away on the nature reserve. Do Lawyers venture in once every five years to check that he's alive or something?
 
The whole point of the film is that the community as a whole, including Walker, have entirely separated themselves from the rest of the world ("the creatures beyond the wooRAB"). So lawyers coming into the villiage for a business meeting wouldn't really fit in with that way of life. ;)
 
just got one word to describe that movie, ......SHITE
i really wanted to see it first then i saw it, and the idea of the film seemed ok, but i think it was spoiled have way through the film..... bad move mr "the village" director :mad:
