I've been waiting awhile now for THE VILLAGE to start showing on Sky Movies - but have yet to see it appearing. I could be wrong, but am sure films released subsequent to it are already showing. Are there some American movie studios that SKY don't have contracts with to show their movies??

I went to the cinema to watch this film considering the person reponsible for it also done Sixth Sense & Unbreakable, and damn I was disapointed, how this film ever got finance is beyond me it was so dull that myself and about 10 others who wasn't with me demanded our money back which we didn't get but did get a voucher for a free entrance next time. However if u have sky movies then sure give it a watch but if u had to pay xtra for it then don't bother

what cinema is this that gives free passes if you don't like the film? wow wish id tried that one for numerous useless films ive seen! can't see it working somehow though, you've gotta take your chances! i thought the village was really good IMO. :D

I thought it was good too, but i'm an ideal movie watcher cos i always end up being shocked by the end, while everyone around me are like "well we all saw that coming, and wasnt that predictable!!":D

I saw it when it was in the cinema and I absolutuely loved it. Just wondered why it hadn't turned up on Sky Movies yet as it must be about 18 months since it's cinema release.

I wouldn't bother if I was you.

It looks fantastic and that's about it.

Dull, uninspiring, and another ridiculously easy-to-figure out and boring twist from Shamalamadingdong...

I really hated this film, I just found it dull and a bit of a bore. Nothing really happens, the peformances aren't that great and the twist at the end was a let down and uninteresting.

And I have no idea why it isn't coming to Sky Movies...

??? you figured out the twist before it was revealed? Did you know it already because someone told you? There was like no hints throughout the whole film as to wht the twist was so how the heck did you figure it out?

I think the movie was fine. Ok it wasnt as good as his previous films but i still enjoyed it and found it quite freaky at times.

As someone has already told me what the twist is, despite me asking them not to - there is no point in me watching this now.

Why do people do this? It's the same with Lost. They can't wait to spoil it for you.

Dont you think your being rude there? when you say I woundlnt bother if i was you?. Dont you think he/she should watch it for them selves first and then judge the film after they seen it?.

Again when you said It looks fantastic and thats about it, well i am glad you have seen it but give someone else a chance to see it .

I know, it annoys me too. If i want to know what happens in a movie or a tv show i will search for spoilers on google. If you want to just watch it anyway, they do this to annoy me and because they have seen it already they think everyone else shouldnt have to see it.

I wouldn't bother waiting for it to come on Sky with excitement.

And no I don't think it's rude to tell someone not to bother. I'm allowed to tell someone that, just as they're allowed to either listen to me or not.

In my opinion, if someone hadn't seen it I wouldn't have them rush out to buy it. Just as I wouldn't advise someone to wait with baited breath to see it on Sky.

And I don't see how I'm denying someone a chance to see it by saying I wouldn't bother ;)

As for the twist, it was just a bit too obvious. They were a bit too isolated and as soon as she was sent off it was obvious she had to stumble on something...

The Village is either a con or a bit of cinematic sleight of hand: it leaRAB you to expect one type of movie and ultimately gives you something else.
It does seem to wind people, me included, up somewhat: I felt like I'd had my pocket picked but on later reflection I think I rather like it. :)

i bought this the other day as seeing Walk The Line has turned me into somewhat of a Joaquin Phoenix fan - I haven't had the chance to watch it yet as I watched another 2 of his movies this week. But I am watching it tonight - very mixed reviews on here so I'll post what I think of it after i've seen it.
