The Vietnam War should be regarded as Kennedy's War. Discuss.?

It was his war because he started it at the height of the cold war, got shot, turned it over to Johnson who turned it over to Nixon who resigned and turned it over to Ford who threw in the towel.

IT shouldn't.

It should be regarded as the French Indo China war as that's when it started.

I'm afraid whatever answer you pick and use will be tricky. Pick the wrong one and you'll be criticized by your teacher. Pick a clever one and your teacher will accuse you of asking it on Yahoo answers..

The Vietnam was truly not a war. To justify sending troops congress called it a police action. See, calling it a war would help them to justify spending all that money so they tried to hide it from the public. When Kennedy enter Vietnam, just like the Bay Of Pigs, the plan was to scare them by force and numbers and then pull out. Unfortunately when Johnson took over he did not have the same leadership skills and did not know how to get us out of Vietnam. So Johnson sent in more troops and the war just escalated We cannot blame any one person regarding Vietnam.

By some, but not, I think by most. Kennedy sent 1000 military advisors, and had withdrawn some of them by the time he died. Lyndon Johnson sent half a million combat troops. Big difference, no?
