The Vampire's Assistant, a film based on the first three books of The Saga of Darren Shan, is out October 23rd. It's being Americanised.

Darren will be played by an unknown, but the most notable casting is John C Reily as Mr Crepsley, although I think he won't be called Mr Crepsley for the film. Also, for 30 Rock fans, Jenna is playing Cormac Limbs.

Universal are on board, so the budget should be okay.
