The Universe's creation?

(This question is actually a serious one, unlike my previous.)

How come some people seem to find it to be easier to believe that a sentient being, a deity, was an "uncaused cause" and it created the universe rather than non-sentient matter being the "uncaused cause"?

I only want personal opinions, not walls of copy-paste Bible texts.
@TEH TYME KITTEH PANTHEIST: Fair enough.
@STEAL KEYS: Which marble? Lol
Oops. Steals Keys* :P
@OK: You too :)
@Matthew: So it is more likely that a fully self-conscious, all powerful, sentient being is an "uncaused cause"?

there is no evidence for a creator. the idea of an obvious human construct that has been getting farther and farther from men the more and more we learn about science and the universe. first gods were the sun, or they lived on a mountain. then they moved to the sky were we could not reach them, then they moved to some transcendent place that is outside of space and time. one god has been a couple of them.

Yeah, you can argue equally for or against either.

The reason I'm a theist isn't because of any ontological or cosmological questions. It's because of personal experience.

The universe hasn't finished being created yet (as it is 'creating' itself).

But to answer your question...

An Intelligent being, is easier for people to relate to, than physics.

You can't ask a nuclear fusion reaction, inside a star, to grant your wishes for you.

I haven't ever viewed an explosion that didn't have something cause it to happen. Whether it was heated it to the point of explosion, it was jarred(bumped) by something, or someone lit the fuse. something caused it.

Why did you assume the universe was "created?" :)

Positing an all-powerful, ever-existing, all-knowing creator to explain something complex (like the universe) only pushes the problem back another step -- you still haven't explained the existence of complex things, whether it's the universe or your posited "creator." In fact, with no evidence to show there is any creator, you haven't explained anything.

In some people's minds, however, doing so does relieve them of the need to think about the question, or to actually learn anything. That "it's good enough for me, now I don't need to think about it" motive seems to be the main reason for positing a "creator."

Peace.

because the whol idea of god doesnt need explanation... its pure belief

since science is based on proof, if we have no proof that it was an uncaused cause, then our ideas our apparently flawed...

Stupid I know.. Thats what happens when illogical people try to use logic

This is my opinion;
A Call for the Universe to Praise God

Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord from heaven,
you that live in the heights above.
Praise him, all his angels,
all his heavenly armies.

Praise him, sun and moon;
praise him, shining stars.
Praise him, highest heavens,
and the waters above the sky.

Let them all praise the name of the Lord!
He commanded, and they were created;
by his command they were fixed in their places forever,
and they cannot disobey.

Praise the Lord from the earth,
sea monsters and all ocean depths;
lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
strong winds that obey his command.

Praise him, hills and mountains,
fruit trees and forests;
all animals, tame and wild,
reptiles and birds.

Praise him, kings and all peoples,
princes and all other rulers;
young women and young men,
old people and children too.

Let them all praise the name of the Lord!
His name is greater than all others;
his glory is above earth and heaven.
He made his nation strong,
so that all his people praise himâ??
the people of Israel, so dear to him.

Praise the Lord!
