The Ultimate Film 100.How many have you seen? (merged)

I taped Taxi Driver and it took me 6 months to watch it, but that was because I came in abit tipsy at 2 am and stuck on a tape when I saw it was on...i then forgot I had done it.

Do you or anyone else have any idea when Channel 4 will air this? I always enjoy there countdowns.

I still haven't see Godfather either. I also must see The Sound of Music and Gone with the Wind.
 
Only 28. But i really dont like big budget hollywood movies and those are usually the type that get the box office.

Have still to see gone with the wind, just have no desire to waste 4hrs of my life watching it when i can waste 4hrs watching it come no 1 on a list!
 
37, and I thought I didn't like films!

Quite surprised that there weren't that many Hitchcock films, and I didn't see West Side Story (might have been having a negative hallucination).
 
I've fully seen 34 of the 100. Although some others I have part watched on TV and given up on them because I was bored.

Yes, I was amazed that "Psycho" wasn't there. Also surprised that film classics such as "The Graduate" and "Midnight Cowboy" were missing.
 
It's compiled from box office admissions, so it's the 100 most popular films, not the best.

That explains why the list consists entirely of British and American films, otherwise a "best-of" list would have scores of foreign films, from the likes of Bergman, Truffaut, Cocteau, Godard, Bunuel, Tarkovsky, Kurosawa etc. etc.
 
The British Box Office is the least list, I likely to take seriously.

I think imdb.com have it right with their top 250, the list is always live so movies can go down or up as time progresses.
 
90!! and 2 of the missing 10 are still wrapped in their dvd cases.

I despise James Bond but you've got to see them to have authority when you slate them.

I didn't know I had such widespread tastes but now I know there are 8 or so that I haven't seen and 2 I haven't heard of I may as well complete century.

The only films I avoid are trashy hollywood blockbusters like Hellboy or sharkboy and lavagirl :-)

Am surprised that some quality films missed out althogether though.
 
I've seen 75, although I have a feeling that with Ben Hur & The Ten Commandments, it may have been on a weekend afternoon with a few breaks for the kettle!

I can't believe I haven't watched The Godfather yet.

None of my favourites were on the list at all, even though there were a fair few on the list that I did love.
 
I've seen 85 of them.
Too much time in my youth watching the old black and white films, on a black and white telly!, with my mum.
Popular films going back 60 odd years, says a lot for current movies, last 10/20 years.
