The Ultimate Film 100.How many have you seen? (merged)

I think I've seen 39 of them. I was surprised at the number 1 film - thought it would be a more current one for some reason.

I think the thing is with that list, is that a load of 'war' movies were in it, by war, I mean movies which came out around that time.

My mum said that they all used to go to the cinema around 2 or 3 times a week in her day, as there was nothing else to do. As this was going on box office admissions, that'd be right, as people don't go as much now as they used to back then. :)

I have seen all of these movies in the last fourteen years of movie watching, either at the cinema, video, DVD or on TV.

98. Cinderella
96. The Matrix Reloaded
95. Notting Hill
94. The Lion King
93. Chicken Run
87. Return of the Jedi
81. Close Encounters of the Third Kind
79. My Fair Lady
77. Love Actually
75. Four Weddings and a Funeral
72. Bambi
67. The Empire Strikes Back
66. 101 Dalmatians
65. Attack of the Clones
61. Moonraker
58. For Whom the Bell Tolls
55. Crocodile Dundee
52. Bridget Jones' Diary
51. Superman: The Movie
47. Independence Day
46. The Godfather
43. The Guns of Navaronne
39. The Towering Inferno
34. The Spy Who Loved Me
31. ET
28. The Phantom Menace
27. Goldfinger
25. Mary Poppins
18. Thunderball
16. Fellowship of the Ring
15. Jurassic Park
08. Titanic
07. The Jungle Book
04. The Original Star Wars
03. Snow White (my first one)
02. The Sound of Music
01. Gone With The Wind

That's 37 movies seen since that day when I got taken to see Snow White at the age of six. That's quite an impressive total considering my age.

I've seen 73 - which isn't too bad considering I'm doing film studies :D :) There are several more that I've seen clips of, but its surprising how many of the older movies I've seen!

Same here. I've seen 54 on the list and I've seen bits and pieces of at least 20 others (mostly old stuff like Gone With The Wind, Dr. Zhivago, The Ten Commandments etc.)

I'm not very impressed with the list, though. Too many modern CGI cartoons - A Bug's Life, Monsters Inc etc.

There are much, much better movies around than those. Still, what's popular isn't always what's great (hardly ever, in fact).

65 for me, and about another 10 I have on tape/DVD but haven't got around to seeing yet (I really must watch 'one flew over the cuckoo's nest' - I taped it in 1988  )

1988? Seriously??!!! No way could I keep a tape for 17 years. If I don't watch a tape within a couple of weeks I usually end up taping over it.I've probably taped over some programmes within 17 hours!!

48 for me

I can't stand Bond films

so that would have made it a few more
and I must be the only person in the world who hasn't seen any of the Lord of the Rings films yet :o
