I was never an Uma fan............until the past couple of years.
 
^Awwwwww. It makes me melt. I need to buy this movie, it's one of my favorite "rainy day" movies.
 
I love this movie! "What's wrong with your dog?" :lol: Love how she puts on the brit accent. Oh and when she went to that store and got her makeup done!! :eek: That was bad!!!

But I agree with shrrshrr. Janeane is more attractive than Uma, imo. How do you pronounce Janeane's name anyway? Jane-ann? Jan-neen?

:lol: Okay, people - that's just sad. What kind of guys do you all know?

I know, I know - the average, every day kind, as in MOST guys. Thankfully I know very few of them.

But I wasn't objecting to this guy being superficial, I just found it unbelievable that anyone would think Jeneane wasn't pretty. Also, guys adore her for her wit, and she didn't lose that in this film. What I thought was unreal is after he's taken her photo and spoken with her, etc., he STILL didn't realize that she was the one for him.

It was totally unbelievable - unless they were still in junior high or something. I can understand him feeling that way initially, but not after already getting to know her. And why would you want a guy that stupid, anyway? *lol* ;)

Also, I couldn't stand Uma at that point in her career, although I adored her in Dangerous Liaisons. I think that colored the way I saw the film. I'd probably cut the movie more slack now that I'm back to adoring Uma.
 
I liked it, and found it realistic, because most guys seem more likely to fall for the tall, leggy, blonde model first, and not the short, frumpy, smartass sidekick. :pout:

Loved the ending. :in_love:

I didn't care for this movie all that much, even though I like all the actors individually.

Why? Because I couldn't believe that some guy would prefer Uma over Janeane.

I mean - Janeane's DARLING! It's not like she's unattractive or anything, and the guy clearly liked her, so I just couldn't buy it, you know?

Still, I've rarely laughed so hard in my life as I did when I saw the dog in roller skates. Poor puppy. *giggles - wipes tears from eyes*

S.A.S.H.A.: :lol: The coat and chocolate scene was funny. He was like " Who put that there?"


Rockstar: I so agree. Ben is really hott in this movie. I love the part towards the ending where she had to put those roller skates on and then he catches her.
 
I love the scene towards the end where Abby (or "Donna") spends the day talking to Brian about anything and he gives her his coat (aww) and there's a chocolate candy in his pocket. :lol: And all the scenes with Hank the dog are adorable. :D

Oh, this movie is so good. I've watched a couple of times and it has been a treat. :)

My favorite quote is the first one on this thread when she said "You forgot to say I love you because you're beautiful." It was so in your face and well delivered.

Plus Ben is SUPER hot in this movie! :sigh:

I absolutely love this movie. I bought it on dvd a few weeks ago and finally got to watch it last night. Ive seen it a few times before in the thearter and still it was a very cute movie. I can so relate to Janeane Garofalo's character Abby. She is like another me :lol: and plus she gets the very hott actor Ben Chaplin in the movie.

Has anyone else seen this movie?
