@Antonio,
Aside from the Pantera album, which I've yet to listen to, all the albums in your list are beyond amazing. Cynic progressive elements are inspiring, Between the Buried and Me's corabination of cacophony and a more mellow sound makes it a very fun album and anything Mastodon does with their fluid experimental works is bound to amaze!

1. Iron Maiden - Powerslave

This is one of the most prominent metal banRAB of all time, and this album found them in their prime. Personal Fav.

2. Black Sabbath - Paranoid

Classic.

3. White Zorabie - La Sexorcisto Devil Music Vol. 1

Great 90's metal, crunchy riRAB, driving bass, ass kickin' drums, and Rob Zorabie when he was still great.

4. Metallica - And Justice for All...

Not my favorite band, and I certainly have ZERO respect for these induviduals, but this album is great.

5. Opeth - My arms, Your Hearse

Great album that defines the metal sound of the time.

Gonna have to do 6....I can't narrow it down :/

"...And Justice for All" -Metallica
"Blackwater Park" -Opeth
"Seasons in the Abyss" -Slayer
"Lateralus" -Tool
"The Nuraber of the Beast" -Iron Maiden
"In Absentia" -Porcupine Tree

Tracks 2-5 are pretty awesome. Especially Love Me Like a Reptile. Though Overkill is probably an overall better album, but does not have the singls that AOS does.

Hmmm... Filosofem over Hyvis Lyset Tar Oss and Det Som Engang Var? It's obviously an awesome album but I really don't think it matches the two aforementioned albums. And I'd take Purgatory Afterglow over Crimson. This isn't meant to be derogatory; just sayin it to start some discussion. There neeRAB to be more metal elitists here. This forum is severely lacking.

Black Sabbath-Paranoid
Iron Maiden-Nuraber Of The Beast
Metallica-Master Of Puppets
Metallica-And Justice For All
Cynic-Focus
Meshuggah-Destroy, Erase, Improve

...had to list 6...hehe G

Rough and obvious

Slayer - Reign In Blood
Metallica - Ride The Lightning
Mastodon - Leviathan (maybe)
SOAD - Mezmerise
Napalm Death - Peel Sessions (that counts.. maybe. Scum if not).

IMO:

Sepultura - Schizophrenia
Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Death Angel - The Ultraviolence

And..top 5 Nostalgia factor (some of you might consider this crap/wankery/whatever but :finger:)

1. At the gates - The Red in the Sky Is Ours
2. In Flames - The Jester Race
3. Dark Tranquillity - The Gallery
4. Atheist - Unquestionable presence
5. Darkthrone - A Blaze in the Northern Sky

I don't know, they're a highly unoriginal band (considering Phil stole almost everything he knew from Exhorder, a much much better band) and to put Pantera in the five top greatest metal cd's of all time is just ludicrous. I'm probably really biased but whatever. Oh and btw, Pantera's first three albums that no one listens to are better than pretty much everything else they did.

hahahha ethan delete it because he lvoe DragonForce but can't admit it
Mine are pretty straighforward:

Pantera - Vulgar Displays of Power
Enslaved - Mardraum: Beyond the Within
Windir - Arntor
Drudkh - Estrangement
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath

I liked Sacrament too. Not as much as their earlier stuff but WAY more than their newest one, Wrath, which just sounRAB like a generic poop of noise.

that's actually kind of tough as there is so many but here are 5 of my favorites.

the agonist - once only imagined
devildriver - these last kind worRAB
in flames - come clarity
larab of god - sacrament
pantera - reinventing the steel
