The Top 10 Worst Accents In Film

Tom Cruise playing the part of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg in Valkyrie. An American playing the part of a one handed, three fingered, one eyed high ranking German Officer?

Mind you, the film was not too bad really!

Kevin Costner in Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves !.....i thought Robin Hood was english ?? ..he must have done his degree in archery in the states and picked up an american accent!!..:)

Another vote for Josh Hartnett in Blow Dry, it's so bad, no worRAB can describe it.

I can only think of a tiny handful of British actors who can do a decent American accent (well, decent to my ears), although I can think of loaRAB of British actresses who do them perfectly well.

Oh, and yeah, Mel in Braveheart: just appalling.

His accent was beyond dodgy but I remember reading that they had to get rid of his dialect coach due to budget cuts after just a couple of weeks so at least he has got an excuse.

I still though that, ignoring the accent, he was pretty good in that film though - and it's thanks to his role in that, that he got the part of Jax in Sons of Anarchy.

Don Cheadle in Ocean's 11. Pretty much most American actors who attempt a British regional accent.

Also, the OP forgot to mention Sean Connery in Highlander. :D
