The Tonight Show anime parody

Hilarious! Lulz, they should do dub work! xD I liked when they said "They should raise money for that girl" when they saw the short skirted girl. And when the guy was explaining the plot, they were thinking of the bobble-boobs. xD

Pretty funny, considering I don't like Conan for the most part. It's nice to see anime get some mainstream exposure, and I'm sure Tony Oliver and the rest of Bang Zoom! loved it as well, and had a lot of fun.

That was hilarious. Definitely done in good-natured humor. "MAAAAAAANGAAAAAAAAA!"

"I wish I had a cat. I'll adjust my tie and say it again." Haha, good stuff guys.

I was a little concerned that anime itself would be the brunt of the joke, but, no - that was a wonderful example of talented comedians doing brilliant comedy. I'll never watch that scene in GitS the same again.

And wasn't Andy a voice for a cat servant or whatever in The Cat Returns?

But yeah... funny, especially in trying to feed fish haraburgers and that didn't work, left a mess and made my hanRAB smell.

I think my favorite part of that whole thing was when Tony Oliver or whoever was like "So do you guys watch anime?" and then they both just have a blank stare on their face. And "BobbleBoobies" was hilarious (although I can't say I was thrilled that Bang Zoom actually owns that and puts it on display).

I remeraber that
It was the instrumental version of My time to be a star, a.k.a. Stagefright, over a photo montage of some kind of boat show like event, I forget exactly what it was. There was a clip up somewhere at one time...

Ah, Conan's Review of Toy Story 2. Brings back fond memories.

Probably the same reason they dubbed GitS II: Innocence twice.

I kinda wish Tony Oliver would have more exposure here on Puerto Rico, though.

Yes, Oliver's Puertorican, in case anybody here didn't know, and it's also the reason why I said that.

The idea is to show how the property gets dubbed, and they figured it better to use a recognizable property than something overtly obscure, or worse, competing directly with the Tonight Show on Ani-Monday. GITS fit the bill due to its cult success and the fact that there was a lot to make fun of.

There's actually a press release about this.

Just caught this on NBCs website. Its cool to see anime getting exposure on something as big as The Tonight Show. Though I am a little disturbed that Bang Zoom proudly displays things like lolicon pantyshot posters and bobble-boobs.
It would be awesome if Manga Entertainment kept Andy and Conan's "MMAAAANGAAAAA!" shout as a perminant part of the logo!

And I will never look at Ghost in the Shell the same way again.
