Over the summer, my world history teacher had us read The Time Machine by H.G. Wells. When class resumed, we watched the movie. As it turns out, the only reason our teacher had us read it was because he liked the ending of the movie. At the end, the time traveler went back in time supposedly to help the Eloi. The only things he brought with him were three books. The next day in class, we went over some possible books he could have brought with him. There were a lot of reference books suggested. I dont think that's right though. If you tell a six year old a simplified version of algebra, what will happen? Nothing. Nothing will happen. He would need to make them feel things before he can help them create any sort of society. Looking at it from that point of view, which books (or general idea of books, authors, etc.) would you bring?
