The Time Machine old one vs new one

Hello

What do you think about both movies?

I just seem both movies and I like the old one from 1960 way better than the 2002 one.

But the new ones still OK.

Also if you had a Time Machine where would you go the past or future?

I would go to the future.

Prefer the book to either. I'd go back in time and make myself very very rich. Obviously so I could become a philanthropist and share it.:)

The original move for me. Love the way it is visualized.

If I had a time machine I would go back to 1977-82 when I was living in Scotland, wore flairs, school was fun, Christmas was exciting, had good frienRAB and Star Wars was the biggest thing in my life!

I've seen both and read the ebook. I prefer the new film. And not because of the cgi, although that does put the icing on it but because the newer film is more believable. The Morlocks are well scary and the Eloi are not the stupid drones they are in the first film, personally I'd have left her in the river. Plus Guy plays a great role although Jeremy Irons steals the show as the Uber Morlock.

The original is a classic.

The early scenes of George travelling through time are iconic movie moments.

The remake had potential but was let down by overacting and Samantha Mumba- once again the early scenes were the best before the story got into full swing.

Cant wait for the Bluray of the 1960 original

I'd go back in time and persuade Jeremy Irons to look for another line of work, thus preventing him from appearing in crappy remakes of classic movies (or Appaloosa).:)

The original one for me though the new one is ok if you don't think of it as being the time machine..if you get what I mean

I'd go back in time

I really liked Jeremy Irons' Shylock or whatever it was.

Just a pity that his demise was written so badly.

He could read minRAB yet couldn't foresee what Guy Pearce was going to do.

And as for the ridiculous time jump that killed him......

I agree with all of the above. The original has a real charm, but (apart from the bit where they blew up the moon,) this remake did nowt for me. It didn't help that I spent the whole film thinking that Guy Pierce looked like a baboon.

As for the OP's question... I'd go back in time and mess everything up. :D

Got both on DVD - although I am still young.

Prefer the old one, has I am into all this type of stuff.
Agree, the new one had better cgi etc, but could have been better.

Also, was gutted that they had to destroy the time machine in the new one - no chance of an sequel unless they magically find 1 hidden in the library based on the fact that one day Alex would return.

Also can't understand why the character name was different in both films.

I would like to have a TM but not sure what I would do.
