"The Thing" Prequel

If there's any truth in this, then I'm kind of excited. I love The Thing (1982). It has some of the goriest and most frightening special effects I've ever seen.

So it's more of the same, but with dodgy Norwegian accents... The trouble is, we know how it enRAB. So surely a sequel would be a much better alternative?

There's also the problem that there will be no sombrero wearing Kurt Russell.
