how did people come out with this term social science?

the definition of the word social is (partly)-

-of, pertaining to, connected with, or suited to polite or fashionable society

-living or disposed to live in companionship with others or in a community, rather than in isolation

and many more

how could the communication and interaction of human beings be a study of science?

science - systematic knowledge of the physical or material world gained through observation and experimentation.

there is nothing systematic about human society and relationship. if there is, we can predict marriage and divorce rates, predict the latest fashion, use prescription drugs to handle peer pressure and bullies in school, prevent conflicts, extrapolate future societies through studies. we can't

we can't tell whether these things can ever happen or not.
is this term just a 'hopeful' statement made by man to do the impossible ?

why can't we just call it humanities.

I'm a 15 year old girl and I disagree. Anything can be studied or observed. The scientists' job is to notice patterns and systems in society and the way humans relate to each other. Thee aim is to know how and why things are the way they are. This study is interpreteted in video games like The Sims and documentaries by Panorama. The next step will be identity cards and tracking devices. There will be mass control until the end of the world.

You may not believe me but the devil wants information on every single human being. We are all on thousands of databases and it is estimated that we are caught on camera at least 300 times a day. It is much too complicated to simply be referred to as "Humanities". The meaning of the word has changed over the years. It is closer to meaning the study of economical, historical, geographical and industrial changes than social behaviour.
