...freshwater, can i do the same? the same as in put them in a fresh water tank and they'll survive.

if not how long exactly will they survive in freshwater, years or months?

Can I graduating reduce salt input until they are used to freshwater and won't die due to the fact that they do not have brackish water?

can i also raise them with my silver arowana?

thanks.

They are brackish water fishes, prolonged exposure to totally fresh water will eventually cause kidney damage to both. They are adapted to fluctuating salinity levels and that should be provided. Also they would probably benefit to a gradual increase to full seawater conditions occasionally. They might live in freshwater for a while, but they won't live well.
Also the conditions in which the two brackish species will thrive will not be ideal for the Arrowana.

Traditionally these fish are brackish so it is super important to make 100 1000 100000% sure that the petstore acclimated them to freshwater and not brackish.

if they were in brackish than you have to wean them off the salt over a course of weeks to freshwater.

Generally brackish water fish dont last as long in freshwater as they would in their natural brackish.

And no, i really wouldnt put them with a silver arowana... really not worth the risk in any aspect.
