INFO:
I have a small fishtank with 3 mountain minnows and a beta. I have hade these fish/tank since january. I allways clean it about every couple of weeks or when it gets dirty.
MY PROBLEM:
I just cleaned my tank 2 days ago.( I always scub every thing completly) Now it is already clowdy and has this smell like watery viniger/fish and its strong enough to smell when you walk in the room.
Whats with that?
By reading the last responses I should note that I DO save half the water, and am aware that it would hurt my fish to use all new water.
Also I have to scrub everything because my air thingy tends to blow all the food down and what they dont eat, Rots.(I don't over feed them they only get a pinch) and sticks on the rocks. so I kinda have to scrub them, but I dont have any tank cleaner I just use hot water to clean.

your over cleaning your tank, before your tank is mature you should take around a quater out once a week, after a couple of months you can reduce this down to every couple of weeks, as betta prefer old water.

the cloudyness is a bacteria bloom in your tank caused from changed and scrubbing your tank out. As long as you dechlorinate and dont use any house hold detergents it should clear up quite quickly, but this is basic fish maintenance you should realli read up on it

uhhhh try those water packet things you are supposed to put in your water that you can get at the store. I clean my tank (guppies and 2 tropical fish) every 2 or 3 months and mine is fine till then. ( no one even say I shouldn't have 2 guppies and 2 tropical fish together, because they have been happily together for two months now, and the tropical fish have been together for a year now.)
