Broadcast Order: Season 21, Episode 19
Production Order: Season 21, Episode 14

Writers: Matt Warburton
Director: Mark Kirkland

A new episode airs tonight at 8 PM Eastern. Here is the synopsis:

Why do I get the feeling there's going to be a Free Willy spoof, even though they did the one with the dolphin already smacking Lisa with it's tail in that Treehouse of Horror ep.

EDIT: I should've remembered about that more obvious spoof. When Homer gets called for jury duty for Freddie Quimby's assault on that waiter, he's in the hotel room watching the director's cut of Free Willy on HBO.

All I know is I turned on this episode and Danger! High Voltage by Electric Six was playing. Therefore, this is the best episode.

A whale stuck on the beach? There's an app for that!

Hmm...couch gag. Too long. Would've been funny if the furniture store was called: "Sofa Kingdom"

Anyway, the story starts of moderately amusing, but it became downright predictable after cutting ties to the power company....hmm...I wonder if the power is going to go off in a few seconds? Thankfully, this part of the story was over quickly, despite the run-into-the ground "intermittent" gags.

Okay, so the windy intro-plot is over, but the whale story lands on the scene and it's looking like a potential whale of a tale. But like "Blue-Ella-Whatever" this story felt beached. At first, the story takes a reasonable dark turn, but the ensuing act takes any of the weight out of the story and is a bunch of whacky nothing. They should've had some balls and tried to rescue the whale, minus the shark scene, and then have "Blu-Ella" die at the last second. Sure it would've been sombre, but it would've been orginal at least.

As it stands, "Squirt" is tad better than the last five episodes, but any hopes of S21 having another genuinely entertaining episode are as dead as beached whale blubber.

2.5/5 D+

Exactly. Wonder how Matt & Trey will retaliate this gag? (I can hear a "The Simpsons are Hippie Tree-Huggers!" from Cartman coming at ten paces!)

I usually turn this show off after I see the week's Couch Gag, but stuck with it through the whole thing.

Heard La Mer over the closing credits. So that's where Bobby Darin got his hit song Somewhere Beyond the Sea from!

Anyone know the artist performing La Mer?

I really liked that moment before the mid-episode break where Lisa realizes the whale was dead. Everything was perfectly silent, with only the noise of the sea overcoming Lisa's sadness. Very well done which I can't usually say for Simpsons nowadays.

That not what the chalkboard said. Watching the episode on Hulu it says:"South Park-We'd stand beside you if we weren't so scare".

As for the episode it was pretty good. I LOL at the part when the electricity keep going and coming. the Tic Tac Toe movie was awesome as well.
