A new episode airs tonight at a special time of 8:30 PM Eastern. Here is the synopsis:
 
You know, I think I'm going to skip this one. My rule is that if there isn't something interesting on before or after a new Simpsons, it isn't worth sitting through. Since KOTH isn't on this week and Family Guy and American Dad! are on repeats, I don't see a point.

Tell me if it's good, though.
 
Nice little christmas opening we got there! I'd say that intro was better than our last real Christmas episode we got, the Gil one. Actually that one wouldn't have been so bad it wasn't for that atrocious third act.
 
I didn't recognize that Stephanie chick who wrote this one, and I am glad I didn't, because it was average. The only things I liked were the Wall-E parody, Mark Cuban's antics, and Bumblebee Man's response to the killer bees.

And I did like the subtitles of the one giant Springfield Excitement player as he was being stung.

"I have fifty words for snow, but none for this particular occurence."

The Millionaires camp would've been funnier if it had included people like Britney Spears, Kanye West, and people like that, and ended with Burns screaming "Noooooo!!!!"

Good: Secret Billionares Handshake, "Stop Milhousing your Sister!" The Gorilla getting shot.

Bad: Mr. Burns is a cartoon clown, again. The whole Bee Beard thing was too screwy. Lisa's whole bee-plot seemed to be filler until Burns's plot came into fruition.

Overall, this felt like a haphazard mix of ideas that could've been better in their own seperate plots, but that's S20 for ya.

I actuall didn't mind this one much. Granted, the whole bee story was fairly dumb, but I thought there were a few funny parts, and none that made me cringe like the Mapple stuff from last week (although I only saw the second 2/3rds of the episode). I'd say good job-- It felt more like a Season 11 episode than a new episode, although that's hardly a compliment, I know. I actually thought it was a repeat of a (relatively) old episode at first, especially since it came on at 8:30.
 
First Simpsons episode I've sat through in awhile and it wasn't completely horrible. But I think they're trying too hard to mimic Family Guy when they don't have to.
 
You missed a great episode. Every act had several laughs. They really knew how to use the supporting characters well here. Curdy, Professor Frink, Mr. Burns, and The Bumblebee Man. There were so many good lines in this episode, but I think my favorite was the exchange between Mr. Burns and Smithers.

"Is that a real gun?"
"Yes, is that a real monkey?"
"No."
 
I thought this episode was splendid. I was worried there for a sec with the bee bearded Lisa, fearing it`d be yet another unfunny gimmick, but was relieved when kept brief.

Even better was how they didn`t force Lisa`s self-righteous ways to the audience as last episode did with their subject on racial intolerance. To add icing to the cake, Homer and Lisa bond without either side antagonizing one another, providing instead some genuine "feel good" moments.

Even the comedy has its time in the limelight (the brief Quidditch match, Burns shooting a man in a gorilla suit with assumptions it was an actual one, "If they get sluggish, just put some steroids in their coke," etc).
 
This one was much better than last weeks, it was a tame episode, it wasn't horrible but it still wasn't the best. Just about average. I was surprised though in Homer's honey fantasy that Wall-e showed up instead of Winnie The Pooh, It would been interesting to see what that bear would think of all this. I also liked how Lisa wasn't too pushy about the whole problem, I liked her beard too especially when Bart kept rearranging the bees and everything. I give this one a 3/5.
 
LIES!! You lied to me, the TV Guide lied to me....everyone lied to me! It did NOT come on at 8:30, it came on at EIGHT. Expecting it at 8:30, I waited until about 8:17 and turned on Fox out of curiosity as to what rerun they were showing. I missed most of it, and what little I did see actually looked funny.

Could someone please tell me what the couch gag was this week? I still look forward to those.

And in what way did they parody WALL-E??
 
I agree that this was probably one of the better ones in recent years. Sure the bee plot was kind of dumb, but at least it's an actual contemporary concern and there was a good amount enlightening bee facts to outweigh the stupidity. I agree that Burns was a little too clownish, but at least he was still able to maintain a sinister atmosphere, with conveniently crushing Lisa's spirit. Homer also had an good scene trying to help Lisa, understandably ignorant of what Africanizing the colony would do. Also, I liked that Burn's head basketball star spoke actual Inuit.

I'd say it was better that the Season 11 episode with the Loch Ness monster, which had a very similar Burns plot.
 
After Lisa tells Homer that the extinction of the honeybee population would mean no honey, Homer imagines a world without honey being a barren wasteland, being forced to eat synthetic. He randomly meets a green Wall-E like robot who Homer tries to shake hands with, but is crushed into a square. Homer then comments on how horrible to future's going to be.

The couch gag I think was recycled from last year (or the year before) after an entirely wintry opening. The family sitting on the couch is revealed to be their reflection off of an ornament on a Christmas tree next to the fireplace.
