The Simpsons - "Rednecks and Broomsticks" - Talkback [11/29]

Well, they did cutaways all the time in that period. Don't see how doing one now is ripping off family guy. If anything, family guy ripped off a good thing from the classic Simpsons era and ran with it
 
Wow, I absolutely ADORED this one. Wiggum and the fly, the goat with tax evasion, and Moleman taking over his own operation... had me rolling, at least.
 
Wow, you missed the entire point of the joke. The bears weren't actually playing the instruments, they were doing what you would expect actual bears to do if you gave them instruments. Destroy them. They weren't making any music other than the sound of the instruments breaking.
 
Basiclly a yawner.

Just becasuse Homer didn't get raped by a panda doesn't mean this was good.

Really? What scene?

the first part of the episode was really good, I especially loved the Bambi reference and the snowy landscape at night had some nice shadowing. But then right after Ned noticed Lisa looking up Wiccapedia it went downhill from there, it was all over the place and very forgettable.

It's getting harder and harder to watch The Simpsons when they don't even make the slightest attempt to foster continuity any longer. Why would Cletus and family have to introduce themselves to the Simpsons? Didn't Bart almost get married to one of Cletus' daughters just a couple of seasons ago?

Aside from that, I didn't quite get the reveal at the end... how did Lisa discover the truth about the town's blindness? Used to be The Simpsons did a great job at not only producing twist endings, but at properly explaining said twist ending without having to resort to deliberately foreshadowing it earlier in the episode.

The Flanders scene was funny, though, so I guess it wasn't a total loss.
 
I'll be fair when I tell you I was barely even paying attention; I was staring at my computer screen when I heard "country bear jamboree", and just quickly turned my head.

So it's not like I was even mentally invested, really.

I think the episode went downhill the second I turned it on.

right before this--and the rest of Animation Domination--I was watching iCarly; I love that show.

I don't find any of Animation Domination to be even remotely as creative as iCarly.
 
Just to be fair. Your judgement is rather biased and iCarly has about as much creativity than any other tween sitcom out there these days, which isn't much.:shrug:
 
I like the Thanksgiving related couch gag.

Will some of the Springfield residents who turned blind be able to see again - including Krusty and Principal Skinner?

The "Bonk It" (spoof of Bop It) part was funny!
