Writers: Brian Kelley

A new episode airs tonight at 8 PM Eastern. Here is the synopsis:

Depends on the humor I guess.
If it turns out to be really fun should be great.
If its just dull well than it might be horrible.
But latley Bart episodes have been good, so I'm willing to give it a chance.

Great episode :anime:
I like the parts with Pokemon,Icky and Scratchy as House, and The School getting destroy XD

Am I the only one who finds it coincidental that Bart was watching a Pokemon parody on the day that HeartGold and SoulSilver were released?

Other than that, not much to say that others haven't already said. It's still better than a good chunk of the last few weeks' of episodes.

Sorry, but I found Boy Meets Curl to be much enjoyable than tonight's episode, which probably had no idea of what it wanted to be (A "bad boy Bart" episode? A "Homer and Marge's marriage is on the rocks" episode?).

This episode was really strange. Everyone was acting in a certain way that seemed unfamiliar to the last couple of seasons.

I laughed when Bart was watching Pokemon and said, "How do they keep this show fresh?" lol.

lol at the Pokemon joke, especially coming from The Simpsons of all shows.

House reference and Thomas reference, as out of place as they were, made for some good jokes.

Even though the plot seemed to splinter and pace really fast, it all came together midway through the episode so the whole thing didn't seem all over the place.

The Simpsons - "Postcards from the Wedge" - Talkback [3/14]

I found this episode to be somewhat of a clich?, with Bart as usual failing his homework and the parents' reaction. Martin's exhibit was pretty amazing, however, and I found the subway bit neat - though I'd appreciate it more if this were from the earlier seasons. And the destruction of Springfield Elementary is just waiting to be retconned.

I have to admit I enjoyed this episode more than any in recent memory. We've had a long string of insufferable episodes, but this one was totally sufferable. Notably, there were strong plot problems, especially towards the end.

First of all, Homer's attitude towards Bart's schoolwork is unbelievably out-of-character for him. And sticking to his guns when Marge tried to get him to lighten up? For Duff or doughnuts, maybe (even then he's typically a bit spineless) but to make Bart do homework? What?

Later on, Homer and Marge were supposed to be stopping Bart in order to save their marriage, yet when the two reached the hidden subway entrance, Marge disappeared and it was all Homer. The same Homer who was the one that wanted Bart under control throughout the entire episode. So where did Marge go? Did she have second thoughts? Could she not keep pace with her morbidly obese husband? How does either possibility make any sense? Shouldn't they have stopped Bart as a team? Sure, it's cliche, but so was this whole episode. At the very least, if they're not going to use the cliched ending, they need to explain why they're not doing so, and hopefully make it funny. The Simpsons used to excel at this.

Secondly, right after Homer throws the kill switch and the ground stops shaking, Skinner exclaims, "the school is saved!" Really, Skinner? Despite the fact that you have no idea what is causing the tremors? Despite the fact that you, as a man of at least grade-school science knowledge should be able to ascertain, the tremors have been occurring semi-regularly and you have absolutely no reason to believe that that was the very last one? Unless the reason Marge disappeared is so she could call Principal Skinner and let him know of Bart's plan... yes, that half-assed explanation will do nicely.

When they referenced Thomas the Tank Engine in that episode, I almost thought the series was finally complete. For 21 years, they poked fun at everything from iPods and Veggietales to Disneyland and FOX Broadcasting.

i saw the entire episode i don't think there was any explanation other than just random obstacle in a funny wrapper.

as for the episode it was very weird. the humor (the milhouse reference after the question of raising barts rear end temperature), the personality of the characters, it was just weird.

it was like family guy but with a simpson spin. it was good but the pacing, reactions, and development was just off the entire episode.

it was like looking at a car wreck but in a good way, if that makes sense. it was unusual to me and i am not sure if i liked it.

i did like the reveal at the end, it gave the episode a nice little bow to tie things up with.

yes the plot was a rehash of a rehash but they love to take care of the environment and recycle everything. other than that the episode was actually pretty fresh for me.

This has been a big improvement over the last few episodes, some good jokes and quite frankly I liked the plot-line.

Everyone else knew Bart wrote that letter right? It was pretty obvious to me.

I like the takeoffs on:
* "House M.D." (with Itchy and Scratchy)
* Tex Avery's "Of Tomorrow" cartoon shorts (featuring Springfield of Tomorrow at the start of the show which is the kids watching an in room school movie and at the end credits)

I even notice Bart watching Pokemon (Even with Homer coloring the TV screen black while Pikachu appears!)
