A new episode airs tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern. Here is the synopsis:

"Homer, did you remember to invite Ned Flanders?"

This is what I mean by insincere, stilted dialog. Why is Marge referring to her neighbor of almost a decade by his full name?

"I already lifted this thing once today, I'm not Hercules." I confess I laughed at that.

"On the zillionth day, God created hugs!"
Ned - "Hmmm...."

The look on his face was just funny to me.

Would Charles Schultz be rolling in his grave with all the beliefs that Peppermint Patty is a lesbian, even though he probably didn't intend for her to be one?

I just don't like having to sit through three commercial breaks during the actual narrative. One break after the opening never bothered me, but three during the show itself is a bit much.

And Schultz was still alive when the whole whole "Peppermint Patty is gay" thing started. I'm sure we was aware of it. But anyone who actually read the strips (or saw the TV specials) knows that Patty (and Marcie) had a massive crush on Charlie Brown.

Touche.

So The Simpsons (and everyone else in this episode) treats Ned like absolute crap yet one photograph is enough to make Ned change his mind about everything.

Good lord. Just end already, Simpsons. Thank God King of the Hill is about to start. That always washes the bad taste out of my mouth.

Were we supposed to laugh? I didn't find that episode funny, and all it did was basically show what a lot of REAL Americans have to go through with the economy down the crapper.
