A new episode airs tonight at 8 PM Eastern. Here is the synopsis:

Let me be the first to say SOUTH PARK ALREADY DID IT, in the episode "The Snuke." They couldn't even think of an original name for the Muslim kid so they took South Park's "Bahir" and added an "s" to make "Bashir."

More specific:
The plot of this is Bart befriends a Muslim boy, and Homer suspects this boy to be a terrorist, and tries to uncover a plot to blow up Springfield Mall, leading to a parody of Jack Bauer and 24. Now just replace Bart with Butters, Homer with Cartman, Springfield Mall with the Hillary Clinton rally, and Bashir with Bahir, and you've got The Snuke.

So... they ripped off not only South Park but themselves (remember "24 Minutes"?) in the same episode?

Way to go, Simpsons, way to go.

I'm not expecting great things from this episode but how about actually watching it first before we call it a rip-off.

EDIT: Is this bad scheduling or does this show think it's cute doing an "after Christmas" episode a month early?

Yeah I was agoing to mention this stuff too. No creativity whatsoever in just changing a single letter of something to make it "different". Either use the real names (as Family Guy would) or call it something different. People aren't so stupid that they wouldn't know what they're talking about.

...I REALLY miss the days when Simpsons gags actually were somewhat realistic.

I mean were they honestly going to pelt them with their earphones?

Well...this wasn't the first time they've done mob scenes this lame. But yeah, that was stupid.

EDIT: Hey guys...remember when Itchy and Scratchy used to be funny?

Yeah, that short was too unfocused. I mean, the basic plot of the shorts is that "Scratchy does something, Itchy comes and kills Scratchy, The End". They didn't need to add all that stuff about atomic bombs and Studio 54.

Well at least I can sleep happy tonight knowing that Homer can't hit lower than rock bottom on the character derailment cliff.

You got it backwards.

It was also one of the lamest.

And I guess it's easy to keep churning out crap like this when all you need to do to advance the plot is to make Homer as suggestible as possible. I mean he's always been suggestible, but these days it's just ridiculous.
