The Simpsons Movie-*major-spoilers Dont Look If Youve Not Seen*

You want SUBTLETY? Who wants subtletly? I want ZANY! and MAD! and STUPID! and FLOWERS! (oops --- mercilessly trodden underfoot...)
:)
Seriously, no-one wants the Simpsons to be subtle. When it is, fans moan about the show being preachy. What we want (and I think I can speak for everyone here) is Homer doing more and more stupid and outrageous things, shouting at Flanders, strangling Bart, and blaming everyone else for his mess.
HOMER FOR PRESIDENT!!!!
:D

Loved this film, corny but extremely funny!

Highlights for me were :

The pig doing an impression of Marge
Marge telling Lisa "You're a woman, you can hold onto your anger forever"
Homer nailing himself at the end on the roof
Boy - can't remember his name - laughing until hoarse at Bart handcuffed to the lampost and then the mother joining in
etc etc so many bits!

People can have an opinion you know.

I wasn't overly impressed, it was nowhere near as good or funny as the TV series. I thought the South Park movie was far funnier, to make a comparison.

Not a Simpsons fan at all but my son wanted to see it. I'm still not a Simpsons fan although I did laugh in places, especially the 'more than 2 shakes & it's playing with yourself'.

My son however, loved it & that was the main thing.

I saw the film today, and-sad to say-didn't find it that funny.

I wonder if additional scenes were filmed/animated, but cut out for whatever reason (running time, etc)?: at the end during the voice credits, there is a credit for Kang (Kang and Kodos being the two tentacled aliens who appear in the show occasionally), but Kang wasn't in the movie.

Apparently there is 1 hour+ of cut material that will be on the DVD release. Appearances by most of the secondary characters, including sideshow bob.

It was great in Alasksa....
"Eski-Moes" and of course, "Grand Theft Walrus".
How has noone mentioned the chainsaw scene????
And am I the only person that shed a tear when
Homer watched the video Marge made and said that as proof the marriage was over she recorded over their wedding video??!?!!

Just one thing left to say though....
"spider pig, spider pig, does whatever a spider pig does".

This was on Dark Horizons about a possibilty of A Simpsons sequel:

"Al Jean, executive producer and show runner on "The Simpsons," has admitted to The New York Post that a "Simpsons Movie" sequel is a long way off.

Jean says "We would only do a sequel if we believed it was a movie that had to be made, just like we did with the first one. We wouldn't want to do it just because the first one was successful, or because we wanted to make money off of a movie. We'd only do it if we had a script that we thought was great [and] there's no script at this point."

"The Simpsons Movie" has grossed more than $175 million in the U.S. and is on track to rake in $500 million internationally. The 19th season premieres September 23rd."

I thought the the jokes in the film were really good and the plot was reasonable but I thought it lacked something. I hope that they haven't killed off Dr. Nick as I like his character. I'd give it 7/10.

My best bits were:
Bart starting to prefer Flanders
spider pig
green day dying
Ralph at start
Maggies 2nd word "sequel"
Bart going naked to Krusty Burger and back
Homer putting Maggie in the sink hole. (poor Maggie)

One of the things I didn't like about the film was that we hardly saw any of the other great characters like skinner, patty and selma, wiggum, mrs. krabbapel and where was Snowball 2? This was a major let down for me.

has any one got the season 10 box set yeat, it has a sneak peak of The Simpsons movie DVD.

IMO this should feature the original theatrical version and a new directors, with deleted scenes restored.
I want to see Sideshow Bob and Snowball II.
of course this will be re-released many times, but let's make the 1st release a good one.
